Christopher P. Knight
I work with startups, helping them build their legal footing prior to initial funding. Right now, I'm working closely in this capacity with Attendease, an event management SaaS platform based in Vancouver, where I am their General Counsel. I love working with startups, especially in the SaaS world.
I cut my teeth developing software during the first dot com bubble, survived the bust and continued into law where I articled with a large national (now international) law firm that saw me negotiating and litigating major construction and infrastructure projects. I also found myself in the Canadian Armed Forces where my 12-year reserve career saw me serve in a few interesting capacities, including as a legal officer with the Judge Advocate General (JAG) branch.
Now my time is split between running my law firm, Knight LLP, in Calgary and working with startups across Western Canada, such as Attendease in Vancouver. For fun, I'm into running with the Hash House Harriers and using my private pilot license (PPL) to fly airplanes at the Calgary Flying Club. Plus I'm a geek at heart ... I tinker with amateur radio and I try to keep my coding skills sharp.
For more information, or to discuss a startup project idea, please don't hesitate to contact me at any time.
